INDOOR AND OUTDOOR PLANTS AND FLOWERS
On this page you will find lots of examples of what you can do if you wanna make your flowers yourself and not buy the ready made one's (more expensive of course). There are endless possibilities, like described in most books about miniature gardening and flower making.
Here are a few pics of what I have accomplished so far. I'm not seeking for perfection, but I just have fun telling that I made those all by myself. If you have questions, just drop me a few lines at my email and I'll be happy to help. danyslittleworld@yahoo.com

FIRST TRY
As you can see, the first try wasn't really a big success, but still, I did not want to throw it away. It was supposed to be a palm tree, but the color isn't very realistic and the pot is a little bit out of size. I used florist's green tape, and florist's wire, cut out the leaves and used a little color.

PALM TREE
This second palm tree looks a little better, but still the green color I used isn't very realistic. But at least, the leaves were laser cut and just needed to be colored and glued on wire and then planted.

DRIED FLOWERS
You can find these tiny little dried flowers in different shapes in florist shops or hobby shops. But you can of course dry them yourself at home. This little outdoor scene is made entirely with dried flowers. It's an easy project for beginners and the result is great.

DRIED FLOWES IN SELF-MADE WOODEN TUB
This wooden tub is a project from Freida Gray's Book and was very easy to achieve. You need the pattern in her book and just a few simple things like thin card, balsa woord and wood color.
I used dried flowers again to make this outdoor arrangement, which looks fantastic in every garden.

TABLE ARRANGEMENT
Again, dried flowers were used for thise neat little arrangement that I put on the table in the entry hall of the German House. Using these little baskets to hold the flowers was an idea I had while looking through my things, trying to find something specific for that little arrangement.

POINSETTIA
These poinsettias were made from a kit from hanky panky crafts. The result is ok, but since the leaves were all the same size, which is not the case in reality, I wasn't really that happy about it at the end.

PEACE LILY
These flowers are made of fimo, but I did not make them myself. Again, a little basket to hold them and some reindeer moss to cover the styrofoam that holds them together and in the basket.

CLIMBING ROSES
Climbing roses are always a very nice addition to your outdoor scenes. I added them to some of the posts of my German House and in one of my little garden scenes. (Not self made)

INDOOR GREEN PLANT
Inside your house, you can use a wide variety of green plants to give a warm and cosy touch to your rooms. This one here is made out of paper, the project was in one of my A.M. Magazines and it was fun and easy to do.
By the way, what looks like "earth" in these pots is simply the content of tea bags, glued to either the fimo or the styrofoam underneath.

SMALL FERN
Another one made from a kit from hanky panky crafts, one of my very first trys. Unfortunately, the pot I used here was too big to go with the size of the plant, but other than that, the result is not too bad.
THE POND
I used a lot of different flowers around my little fish pond, like reindeer moss, dried flowers, the little orange and yellow flowers are made of silk. I found them one day in a hobby shop and they were sold in handy little bags.
DAISY'S IN A POT
The tiny little daisy's were also made from a hanky panky kit. Basicly, all you need to do here is glue the leaves and flowers to the little florist wire and plant them. The only difficulty here is of course the size. You just have to used pliers, it's almost impossible to do that with your fingers.

TREE SURROUNDED BY FLOWERS
I planted this tree in the front garden of the Amercian House. The flowers surrounding the tree and all the other little arrangements are do-it-yourself items, mostly out of ideas I got from Freida Gray's book. I used reindeer moss, dried flowers, differents shapes and sizes of stemens (mostly available from shops selling cake decoration items), silk flowers and some ready-bought flowers available from almost every dollhouse shop.

GREEN PLANT
After I discovered the website from Hanky Panky Crafts, I realized that it would be a lot less expensive to buy a few punches than the kits. So I got myself different punches, paper etc and started to punch out my own leaves. This little green plant here was the first try and it doesn't look bad at all.
OUTDOOR PLANT
This tall outdoor plant is made mostly out of acquarium greenery and plastic and silk flowers. I just went through the box where I keep all my flower making items and this is what came out at the end.
I made two of those and used them in my garden to hold the little japanese lanterns for my garden party.

PETUNIAS AND MORE
The Petunia's are made out of tissue paper (or crepe paper or even napkins) cut into circled (aprox. 8 mm diameter), green covered wire, a little acquarium greenery of dark green reindeer moss.
You need punch out different color circles and color them on the inside to give them the petunia look. All you need to do them is assemble them to the wire and plant them. The pots used in this projects are made of egg cartons. Just add a little color of your choice and you have the perfect pot.

TROPIC PLANTS
These two green plants were made out of laser cut leaves (Palm Tree) and punched leaves (Fern) which only need a little color, be glued to the wire and you're done.
These Paper Punches are available in many different shapes in any good hobby shop.

LITTLE POTS
As you can see again here, your imagination is your only limit when it comes to flower making. To fill all these tiny little pots, I used almost every available item to create flowers and plants.
D.I.Y. PLANTS
Sometimes, you just need to follow your imagination where it leads you. When I was making my scrapbook shop, I need some plants to put at both sides of my front door and again, I just went through my "flower making supplies" box and this came out. Aquarium greenery and some flowers and you have the perfect little plant.

IVY
These are also laser pre-cut leaves, but they needed to be colored first and then put together, which is not an easy job since they are so tiny.
THE TRELLIS
As you might have guessed already, I used left-overs here again. First, cut out the base, to glue the other items to. Then cut out 5 lenghts of flat wood parts, all the same size and start to glue the one in the middle, then one to the left and one to the right. Repeat that step and you have the middle part all done. Then you cut out 3 more lenghts of flat wood parts (one slightly smaller for the bottom) and glue them on top of the other items previously glued together.
Then comes the coloring part, choose whatever color you wish and let dry. I used green flock here to put on my trellis before adding the flowers. Working with loose flock and glue might be a messy job, so you can of course use anything else that comes to your mind.
