A gift to my husband.
He is a musician in his free time and he does need some space just for him and his music. Don't worry, he does have such a room, buy in my own little world of miniatures, I decided to create one just for him.

This is a frame I bought in a miniature store, with the picture already in it. I usually prefer to do those myself, by scanning or copying pictures, reducing them to scale and printing them on photo paper. It's much more fun and you can also do this with pictures of you and your family, which makes the whole thing even more personal. Making a frame is not very difficult either, you may find a few hints at the T&T section.

This Note Stand was put together from a kit, which is a little less expensive than buying it ready to use. Most dollhouse and miniature shops have these music notes too, but it's also fun to make those yourself.
The technique is the same as the one I used for making the pictures, scanning, copying, reducing to scale and printing.
There is a great website for miniature print-outs where you can find almost anything already scaled to the right size.

This greek vase comes from a holiday in Greece. I found it at a souvenir shop.
By the way ........ take a closer look at the floor, you will see a tiny little moustrap. So much for details !!

The piano comes all finished, ready to be put in a room. The beautiful painting hanging on the wall is one I made myself, using the technique described before. This is something I did a few years ago and in the meantime, the picture frames I make myself do look a lot better. Ready-cut mouldings and trims to make those are available from most dollhouse shops.
The tiffany light on the piano is working. In my opinion, the absolute last touch of giving life to your dollhouse is to light it up. Once the lights are on, it all looks so different and so real, you might even see your dolls moving around. I admit, lighting up a whole house isn't very cheap, but it's worth it and you don't need to buy all the lights at the same time.

Any room looks warmer with a green plant in it. I made this one from a kit from www.hankypankycrafts.com They have a very large choice of punched plants and flowers to be made from kits.
