POLYMER CLAY
The Beginning

This cake was one of my very first trys to make food out of Polymer Clay. I used FIMO and I must say, I was quite pleased with the result. At least it looked like a cake, don't you think ? There is a cherry missing, ups. Funny thing is, neither my hubby nor myself like this "Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte", but hopefully the people living in my dollhouses will enjoy it. :-)

The Fridge

Look at that fridge and all the food in it, mostly made of FIMO. It is always so much fun to open a door, a drawer or a fridge and discover they're not empty.

In the end, that's what gives the final touch to a dollhouse : filling the drawers, cupboards, fridge etc. gives that "being alive" feeling to every miniature house.

FIMO FOOD

I guess every miniature lover dreams about Angie Scarr's fimo wonders. Her food looks so real and so delicious, it's unbelievable. Her book is of course in my collection, but the food I'm making doesn't really look that good. But still, I made these and use all of them in my houses and there is 1 thing you should never forget : most people who admire your work don't look at it with a miniaturist eye and they will probably think that these look beautiful.

And so do I !!

Donuts

Well, I invited a lot of people to this garden party and everybody just loves my home-made donuts. That's why I had to make so many.

For this project, I used to different colors of FIMO, put the two layers one upon the other, cut out little circles, made the whole in the middle and once they were baked and cooled off, I first added a few drops of glue and put them in sugar. Real sugar of course.

MAKING DOLL'S HOUSE MINIATURES WITH POLYMER CLAY

This book is great if you're into Polymer Clay/Fimo. It is not as easy as it might seem to make something look realistic with Fimo. But its less expensive than some other materials. The books gives you a very good idea of what you can really do with clay ...... some things may come unexpected, buy once you know how to handle the stuff ..... The only thing I still can't get right with clay are flowers. I do prefer the other techniques to make flowers. But I don't give up on it.

MAKING MINIATURE FOOD

Another book by Angie Scarr, the master of Fimo and Polymer Clay. Her food looks so realistic, it's like of you could smell it, just by looking at the photos inside the book.

But don't forget : THIS NEED A LOT OF PRACTICE ........... AND PATIENCE OF COURSE !
