At our local hobby shop, I once found those small mirrors of differents shapes and sizes and I bought them without knowing what to do with them at the time. I guess I completely forgot about them until the day I sat on the beach in Florida and suddenly saw those very tiny little sea shells all around. I spend hours to select the smallest ones and I brought them home and so the idea of making a mirror for a bath- or bedroom came and look at the result. All you need to do is glue the mirror to a previously painted piece of wood (left-over will do !!), glue the shells to either the mirror or the wooden base and hang it on the wall.

Since this was my very first try to make a pond, the result wasn't so great. I added a few of those little sea shells and a few tiny stones from railroad stores. The water is also available from those stores, there are different techniques though to make fake water. The first thing to do is paint the ground of the pond. Once I finished the project, I realized it wasn't such a good thing to chose that blue color, because it made the whole thing look more like swimming pool than a pond. I should have used a little dark green maybe to make it look more realistic. These little bricks come from a miniature store, as well as the statue of course. After I added a few flowers, my little pond didn't look so bad after all and I used it for my english garden.
