When this picture was taken, the garden was not yet finished. I lated added a few other plants as well as a door at the back, but this gives you a good idea of what you can do starting with only a few pieces of 8 mm MDF and some polymer clay. The brick walls are made of clay and painted/aged later, once the clay had dried out completely. I decided to make it the garden of an older couple, sitting on the bench with their dog next to them, having a little picnic.

Why not having a little picnic in your own garden ? Grand'ma and Grand'pa here thought so too, I guess. The took the dog outside, sit on the bench for a while and the little picnic basket is ready to be used.

At the time I decided to add a pond to my garden, I didn't know how to make the fish; I just read about how to make the water so I wanted to try this.

Trying to make the fish was not a success that first time, but a funny experience. I wanted to make some out of polymer clay, but I never managed to make them look like fish, more like aliens. My husband and I couldn't stop laughing looking at those funny things. That's why this pond does only have a few stones and plants in it.

I must say though that the blue color in the pond does not really come out right. A pond usually isn't blue, this looks more like a swimming pool. But nobody's perfect, right ?

As soon as you add dolls to your house, roombox or garden, that's what makes the difference. Because an empty dollhouse is as sad as an empty "real" house. Once this nice old couple sat down on the bench, the whole garden looked totally different and somehow became 'alive'.
